In Angela's Words
“Good representation starts with being present, accessible, and accountable to the people you serve.”Angela Saggese, candidate for Vaughan Ward 1 City Councillor
Good representation starts with being present, accessible and accountable to the people you serve. I believe residents should always know where to find their councillor and feel comfortable reaching out when they have a question, concern or idea.
That's why I'm committed to maintaining regular office hours, hosting community meetings and creating more opportunities for residents to have real conversations about the issues that matter most to them. Whether it's traffic, development, neighbourhood safety or local projects, residents deserve timely answers, clear communication and regular updates on the decisions affecting Maple and Kleinburg.
I'll also work closely with York Region, the City of Vaughan and our local community partners to help move important projects forward and make sure that the priorities of Ward 1 are represented every step of the way.
As your Ward 1 Councillor, my commitment is simple: to listen, to communicate openly, and to make sure Maple and Kleinburg always have a strong, informed and respected voice at Vaughan City Hall. That's how we build trust, strengthen our community and plan responsibly for tomorrow.

What a Ward 1 Councillor Does
Vaughan Council has 10 members: the Mayor, four Local and Regional Councillors, and five Ward Councillors. The Ward 1 Councillor represents Maple and Kleinburg, bringing local perspectives and community priorities to Council decisions on services like development applications and zoning, parks, local roads, by-law enforcement and property tax billing.
Because services like regional roads, transit and policing are delivered by York Region, a Ward Councillor also has to work effectively with regional partners. Angela will make sure Ward 1 residents know what is happening, who is responsible, and how to have their say.
